Your Support Creates Impact

Becoming a Net-Zero Economy

You can make an impact in our mission to drive down the 80% of greenhouse gas emissions that are attributed to St. Louis’ buildings and transition our region to a net-zero economy

This is no small task, so we engage and educate stakeholders in the built environment about the best practices to achieve high-performance buildings, filling financing gaps, and supporting the region to meet its climate goals.

We are better together

We are mobilizing a diverse coalition of private, public, non-profit, and community leaders that is multi-disciplinary, culturally inclusive, and outcome-oriented.

We value multi-racial, multi-generational partnerships that are considerate of the lived experiences of residents while offering mutually- beneficial solutions for both building owner and tenant.

The condition of our regional building stock reflects decades of racial inequality leading to substandard living conditions for many people of color and a lack of opportunity for acquiring generational wealth through real estate. BE-Ex KC initiatives must recognize that history and find opportunities to heal these historic injustices through community empowerment, housing stability, and improved health. Communities of color must play a critical role in defining our built environment for the next century.

With your support, we hope to:

Develop energy-efficiency financing tools that address hard-to-reach markets

Create technical assistance programs to guide building owners

Seek out BIPOC-led partnerships.
